
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Centre of the Hong Kong SAR Government successfully hosted the "Startups and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance)" Luncheon Forum at O2 Park Makerspace in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The event attracted around 80 company representatives and guests, aiming to explore how startups can implement sustainable development and integrate ESG principles into their operations.
The forum opened with insightful speeches from the GBA Development Commissioner of the Hong Kong SAR Government and leaders from the Guangdong Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department. They emphasized the long-term value of ESG in driving business resilience and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
During the relaxed luncheon, representatives from various industries shared experiences and exchanged ideas. In a highlight session, four business representatives from the fields of culture and creativity, architecture, environmental protection and education shared their practical experience in ESG. Each talk was filled with practical insights and inspiration, offering valuable takeaways for all attendees.
The forum concluded with a guided tour of the innovation park, led by Mr. Siu Leung-yau, the asset manager of O2 Park. During the visit, Ms. Bonnie Yip, Executive Director of Learning Bridge Assiocation, shared her collaboration with the Guangzhou-based Ignite Project, demonstrating how inclusive art initiatives within the GBA are contributing to ESG. Her presentation highlighted the powerful role of the arts in promoting social responsibility and sustainability.
After the tour, participants left with a deeper appreciation of the innovative energy within the GBA.
